Applefields School

Applefields School is a new school for secondary aged pupils with special educational needs. We offer excellent provision for secondary aged students up to the age of 19 years from both the City of York and the neighbouring local authorities. The school opened on the 1st September 2004 and we moved into our new school building in September 2005.

The greatest resource Applefields School has is our staff team. I am very proud to work with a dedicated team of professionals who strive to provide the very best for all students. In addition to those staff employed directly by the school, we work very closely with colleagues from the Selby and York Primary Care Trust who provide nursing, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy support to students. Our aim is to work as a whole staff team to provide the best possible support for students and their families - I believe we do this very successfully.

Parents and carers are very important partners in the process of their child’s education. The formal and informal involvement of parents is warmly welcomed - we want to work closely with you as partners in helping your child achieve the very best at Applefields School.

Headteacher
